My name is Maddison, I am a 22 year old photographer. I am the owner and designer of The Artisan Daughter. I live in a countryside town in Tasmania in a tiny home on my parent's property with my fiancé. We live surrounded by all our animals, gardens and nature. It's a peaceful life, and the perfect setting to create. My tiny home is a big part of this company, every piece thoughtfully designed and packed in this house and is where I pour my heart into creating something that feels special, elegant & timeless.​​

I have grown up immersed in creativity and artistry, surrounded by inspiration from a young age. My father, an Englishman, is a Painter and French Polisher, while my mother, a former art teacher, fostered a love for the arts in our home, still spends her spare time creating. My great-grandmother was a skilled seamstress, known for designing and creating beautiful dresses. Together, with my great-grandfather, they were also dancers, teaching ballroom dancing. My grandmother, owned and ran a charming bed & breakfast in London in the 1970's. My nan, a former pianist, still spends her spare time oil painting. My older sister, a baker, creates vintage-style cakes & sweets. Each of these influences has shaped me and inspired me.

My artistic side developed from a young age, I always found myself painting, drawing & crafting. When I was ten, my parents gave me my first little digital camera for Christmas, and that's when my photography all began. Since then, I've been constantly taking photos, preserving life's precious moments and creating memories through a form of art that will last a lifetime. My photography focuses on romance and self-love, with a cinematic touch that makes each shot aim to feel like a scene from a movie. Photography is a big inspiration for the design of our garments.

My journey through fashion began with five years working in retail, as well as six years creating content for fashion brands. It was during this time that I fell in love with the beautiful pieces and stories they tell. Now, as a fashion photographer, my passion for both photography and fashion has come together, inspiring me to create my own designs.

I want this brand to be more than just a clothing line- it is a place where people can feel nurtured, beautiful and in touch with their femininity. Each collection tells its own story, with every collection representing a story of its own, whether it's about romance or a journey of self-love. My goal is for you to feel like the best version of yourself, whilst wrapped in soft, elegant materials.
